I Got Stabbed 3 Times

In a desperate attempt to gain views for his blog, a Guwahati based blogger used his appendicitis removal operation image as a story line for his new blog which you might just be reading right now.

I was away from blogging for some time and needed a good comeback. I thought I could use the image from the operation to grab the audience’s attention. I think with this attitude I might soon get called out to join a political party soon. They need liars like me”, the blogger named Manab said.

Manab is recovering. He is on bed rest now and blogging from his bed.

It all started a month ago, a sudden pain on the lower abdomen took over my life. The pain was so excruciating, that I had to watch the indian television serials on TV to get my mind away from the pain. Jodha Akbar, Kundali Bhagya and the news on Republic TV, these three things saved me. The content on these shows were so poisonous that I used to forget about my appendicitis pain.

What is Appendicitis?

Appendicitis is an inflammation of the appendix, a finger-shaped pouch that projects from your colon on the lower right side of your abdomen. Appendicitis causes pain in your lower right abdomen. However, in most people, pain begins around the navel and then moves.

In case you start having pain in that area, contact a doctor soon. It needs to be medicated first, so that its size is reduced. Once it’s small in size, the doctor will take it away.

"The doctor punched three holes in my stomach area. The centre hole was for the camera and the other two were for surgical purpose. When I was lying on the operation table and was facing the lights, it reminded me of the music video from Metallica's 'One'. The doctor put the mask, it's an anatomical mask. The doctor introduced/administered anaesthesia, put through the anatomical mask and I was gone just like that. Next when I opened my eyes after hours, the operation was completed."

So the operation part was easy for me. I didn’t feel anything. But the hardest part is the recovery. I could not move my body for 12 straight hours because that was what was suggested by the doctor. I could not eat or drink for the next 32 hours. It was all saline being fed through my veins so I stayed hydrated. Now I am on bed rest for next 2 weeks. The doctor said that the stitches will get dissolved with the skin, I will keep you guys updated on that if I write on this topic again.

My family has been such a great help. Specially my elder brother and my father. My mom and my sister-in-law are also taking good care of me. Most probably none of them will ever read this post but still I wanted it to be here so I could read it in few years again someday.
